Clinical and Theraputic Implications of Meal Replacements

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), which includes nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), are highly prevalent diseases associated with an increased risk of morbidity and mortality. This symposia focused on the benefits of meal replacements and highlighted data demonstrating that a meal replacement programmes can promote increased weight loss and increased rates of T2DM remission compared with other strategies.
